On Tuesday, October 10th at 4:00 PM, meet Stuart Gibbs and James Ponti, two authors who write popular kids’ books, as they discuss and sign copies of their new novels for young people at the Niles-Maine District Library, 6960 West Oakton St. in Niles, IL. This event is presented in conjunction with The Book Stall, an independent bookstore on Chicago’s north shore. Since it’s a book birthday for Stuart Gibb’s new book, we will have cake! It is free and open to the public. This event is recommended for grades 3 and up.
Stuart Gibbs is the author of the FunJungle series, as well as the New York Times bestselling Spy School and Moon Base Alpha series. His new book in the Spy School series, Spy School Secret Service, will be released on Oct. 10th, the day he visits the library! Mr. Gibbs has also written the screenplays for movies like See Spot Run and Repli-Kate, worked on a whole bunch of animated films, and developed TV shows for Nickelodeon, Disney Channel, ABC, and Fox. Stuart lives with his wife and children in Los Angeles. You can learn more about what he's up to at StuartGibbs.com.
James Ponti’s newest book is Vanished, the second book in a mystery series starring 12 year old Florian Bates, a special FBI consultant. The School Library Journal says, “Mystery buffs and fans of Anthony Horowitz's Alex Rider series are in for a treat. With elements of Alex Rider, James Bond, and Sherlock Holmes stories, this is likely to be popular with mystery and action/adventure fans.”
