Frank O’Hara famously wrote “Poem (Lana Turner Has Collapsed)” while he was on the way to give a reading with Robert Lowell at Wagner College on Staten Island. Not every poet who joins us today will be reading a poem they wrote on the train on the way to the store, but each will read 3-5 minutes of new work at this celebration of Chicago-area poetry. We’ll serve snacks and drinks! Please join us for an afternoon of fellowship, fun, and a wide variety of voices sharing new work.
This event is co-sponsored by The Book Stall, and Underline Poetry, a local not-for-profit literary arts organization catering to poetry lovers through broadcast, online, and in-person programming.
