Ben Costa and James Parks have been friends since the second grade. They are the creative minds behind the Dungeoneer Adventures series, and they'll be leading a writing/art workshop for kids here at The Book Stall on Wednesday, April 26th at 4:30 PM. Attendees can find out what's it's like to collaborate on a book series, how these guys get their ideas, and what it takes to get your writing out into the world. We recommend this workshop for kids ages 8 - 12!
Please reserve your child's space by emailing Robert at email@example.com. There's a $5 participation charge, which is fully redeemable for merchandise in the store. This fee is payable at the door. We suggest you use your $5.00 gift card toward the purchase of book #2 of the Dungeoneer Adventures: Wrath of the Exiles! All supplies are included, as well as an after-school snack!
If the $5.00 participation charge is an undue financial burden, contact Robert at firstname.lastname@example.org. Scholarships are available.
About the Books: The Dungeoneer Adventures series follows Coop Cooperson, a human in the Land of Eem, a fantastical realm where many different species live together and there is always more magic to be discovered by those up to the task. Coop is accepted into The Dungeoneer Academy where future explorers train in classes like Dungeons and Mazes, Creatures and Critters, and Swords and Sorcery. Being the only human student can make it difficult to fit in, but luckily for Coop, his best friend Oggie the bugbear has his back, as do the two other members of their exploring team, Daz the boggart and Mindy the imp.
In the first book, Lost in the Mushroom Maze, Coop and his friends tackle their Junior Dungeoneer Badges test. As future dungeoneers, they know to expect the unexpected, but nothing could prepare them for the adventure in store.
In the new second book, Wrath of the Exiles, the junior dungeoneers’ skills are put to the test as they vow to stop whoever’s wreaking havoc at the academy. However, the villains might be even more dangerous than they thought, and they have a serious vendetta against Dungeoneer Academy.
About the Authors: Ben Costa is an author and artist living in the San Francisco Bay Area. He has been friends with his co-author James Parks since the second grade. In addition to Dungeoneer Adventures, the two are the creators of the graphic novel series Rickety Stitch and the Gelatinous Goo (for which Ben is also the artist), as well as the tabletop roleplaying game Land of Eem.
